Remote Learning
Trinity Statement Of Remote Education January 21
There are three situations where children would be at home related to Covid:
- If your child is absent and is awaiting a test result, we would ask that you refer to the class homework grid on the website for activities for the short time they are absent and use their reading and library books. You could also use any of the resources below.
- If a child is absent because they need to self-isolate, the class teacher will be notified and will provide work to you as quickly as possible which will attempt to replicate what is being covered in class at that time.
- If we need to close a class bubble because of a confirmed Covid case and the whole class needs to self-isolate, we will be providing remote learning via a platform called Seesaw. Children will have passwords for this in their reading records. Responses to this will be monitored and families offered relevant support. It is so important that now we are back into the swing of learning that we have your support to keep your children’s learning going if they need to absent because of Covid.
We have taken feedback on how remote learning was provided during lockdown and have chosen Seesaw because it will enable teachers to set differentiated work for different groups of children and there will be opportunities for teachers to provide teaching support, for children to submit work and for them to receive feedback on their learning.
If whole school closure was implemented we would use Seesaw.
Seesaw was chosen after extensive research into the solutions available and is compatible with: Chromebooks, computers, iPads, iPhones, Android tablets, Android phones and Kindle Fire.
If you would like to access online training for Seesaw, in advance of having to use it, you can do so by accessing https://web.seesaw.me/parents
