Pupil Premium Strategy Statement for Trinity Church of England/Methodist Primary School

Our learning culture and nurturing environment ensures that we set the highest expectations for all and continually strive to ensure that children succeed and enjoy school.

The Government believes that Pupil Premium funding which is in addition to main school funding, is the best way to address the underlying inequalities between children eligible for free school meals (FSM) and their peers by ensuring that funding to tackle disadvantage reaches the children who need it most.  Schools are then able to decide how the Pupil Premium is best spent to maximise impact.  In order to utilise the funding in the best possible way we continually research the best ways to maximise the use of Pupil Premium funding and currently base most of our spending around recommendations in the Education Endowment Foundation Toolkit (Sutton Trust document).

As a school we consistently track all groups of pupils to ensure that they make good or better progress. Through targeted interventions we work to eliminate barriers to learning and progress. For new entrants that start with low attainment on entry, our aim is to ensure that they make accelerated progress in order to reach age related expectations as they move through the school. Once at age related expectations we continue to extend that learning further to ensure that they reach higher levels of attainment. We closely monitor how we are spending the allocated funds to ensure they are having an impact on achievement and progress through termly Pupil Progress meetings
